Skid’s original cohare couldn’t make it and at the 11th hour The Griz put his hand up to assist. It was a warm night, a clear sky and no wind which made it a very pleasant run attended by 25 members and 1 visitor in Putrid from Borneo.
A great location which allowed the runners to head off into the scrub and the walkers to do their couple of laps of the lake. At the circle, the on Sec called up Putrid as a visitor and Action as a returnee (Action pleaded that he was at the run the previous week and did not qualify but the down down went ahead as he was within the rules – sounds familiar). Emu, Sir Knob and Horse got named – can’t recall the indiscretion but no doubt deserved. The Griz was up for firstly getting the weather forecast right for the last few days and then for having to justify a cost overrun of some $92 million on a BOM website. The Munchmasters were thanked for organising the Xmas lunch on Friday and Crayfish explained a couple of indiscretions on the day.
Dickie as RA had Colonel and Budgie up – evidently Budgie was impressed with Colonel’s generosity in keeping him supplied with beers but eventually found out that Colonel had tapped into the club supply and kept his own stash in his esky. Dickie gave a critique of the walk, a pleasant 1.5 km walk around the lake with lots of pleasant views and Q commented on the run – a bit short at 3.0 km but compensated by doing the run twice – a good well set run which was awarded a 7.5 out of a possible 8.0.
Food was Subway, a perfect meal for a hot night and lots of it. Our thanks to Skid and particularly to Grizzly for filling in at late notice for a great night and to Polly for attending to wagon duties.
