The run was set from Milligan Reserve in Karrinyup with a good mixture of playing fields, bushland, dunes (think hills!!), and suburbia…not to mention a sunset over Trig Beach…excellent! A great turnout from all the clubs with Hamersley’s proud reds standing out in the crowd.
Both runners and walkers had separate trails, with Pothole measuring the runner’s trail at 6.5kms in 55 minutes, even accounting for a drink stop near the end. With so many fast runners from the other clubs the checks and false trails were needed to keep the pack together… full marks to the hares, including Nanny from Perth H3.
The circle was well run with our On Sec Rimmer receiving some heckles for his Scottish accent… calling up Pothole for a down-down (not securing a load) and the joke was about God visiting an outback pub and proving himself.
There were too many other club’s jokes, songs, and misdemeanours to remember…feel free to write in and fill in the space!
Dinner was sausage curry and rice served up by Polly and Phantom.
