Nanny in Lasagna Land
34 Hashmen arrived at Sheldrake Reserve on a seriously hot summer afternoon for a run in familiar good running territory with orchestration by Nanny and co-hare Lasagna. With no traffic on the Mitchell there were some very early arrivals, notably the OnSec who until 2023 has never been parked 20 minutes before a run.
15 runners headed off at 6:01 and whist there was not much sprinting in all of this returned to the bucket after 50 minutes with only APITW running out all the false trails for the 7.1 km as set. The snail group clocked 4.9 km and for a hot day, the run was perfect. Nanny doesn’t like checks too much but there was one and heaps of FTs for he who wanted to run them. The drink stop was well located with ice-cold bottled water and dogs and runners were impressed.
Tea comprised good buns with sliced ham and silverside with bucket loads of coleslaw and a choice of mustards. Drinks management by co-hare as good as everything else. Top effort.
So besides being the best run in 2023 to date, it probably will make a short list for run of the year when the time comes to deliver judgement.
Where else could you possibly want to be on a Hash night; be it Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday?
