Run 2781 – Jack Russell with co-hares Grizzly & Dozer.
EMU EXPRESS- RUN 2785: Hare: Ramrod, Co-hare Christmas
For a spring run, it was very somewhat chilly with an artic wind straight off the river.
However, off we went for a half lap of the adjoining oval, then a bit of street stuff and to the Maylands mosquito-breeding wetlands. A long stretch here with very few checks and falsies, so the pack was well strung out. A hash halt was called.
We had a young Canadian gazelle + backpack with us called Facial Recognition who made us all look like we were on flat tyres.
Anyway, under the Garret Rd bridge, then a few hills and back across the very same oval in 45 minutes. Distance about 5.6km – bit short! Not enough checks and falsies and the pickups were too short.
However, a good run, good use of territory, well marked, great shelter and no delays.
There were 13 runners and a total of about 30.
Tucker – very tasty home-cooked corned beef, rolls and accompniants [new word for Scrabble].
Score 8.7km
Our on-on stretched out a little due to the finalization of the raffle, but we still managed to fit in a Christmas joke.
I’d like to make special mention of the effort of Polly & Christmas in solving the inaccessible van crisis, thus ensuring us desperates didn’t miss out on our alcohol fix! Well done boys.
An enjoyable night – again! Blokes who don’t run/walk Perth gentlemen’s hash each week don’t know they’re alive!!

Run 2783 – 4 Seasons Spring Run with a little of Winter
After a bit of confusion we arrived at the map pin point to find that most of Perth and some of Wet Coast were in another spot. So much for Hash Map writing and reading ability. [additions by Scribe]
After being questioned by Security which was sorted by Hare Fry ,we all headed off anti clockwise around the Ikea monolith. RUMPOLE arrived late and struggled to get in touch with the pack which had now crossed Cedric St into the Badlands of N Innaluu (note correct indigenous spelling ) .
We, the disabled, took a short cut or two, to be twice overtaken by the spread out athletes ? We then reached the drink stop (only 4 minutes from home !!) with all arriving back close together , except for our Hon Sec who with a few other geriatrics, who were lost and came home via Google maps . It seems the pace and length between check and restart lost a few of our boys.
It seemed an interesting run but a bit too quick for some of our aging PH3 boys . Some years ago we expelled a bunch of rebellious children who have come back to bite us on the bum with some tough runs. I look forward to them aging and dropping back to our level.
W C Hash’s version of the long haired git (undies ) ran the circle—Don’t complain you lot, remember we trained him !! He seemed to pick on our regular targets , BUDGIE NANNY PHANTOM RUMPY and a couple of his own—the bloody speedster FRANGER
We finished a good night relatively dry and chock a block with POPGUN’s tasty pizza

Run 2780 – Q and Seagull -Kalamunda
Hares: Que and Seagull
Location: Kalumunda,
Terrain: Hills, bush, and streets
Runners: 11
Walkers: 20
The run started at the Kalamunda Water Tank with the Bucket required perilously close to the road. No Hashers were killed though. The run took off into the back streets of Kalamunda with some very long FTs. Almost a course in themselves. The Run then ventured into some very dark bush (it was nighttime), some small hills, plenty of rocks to trip on in the dark, but there were no reported injuries.
The hares set a challenging course with plenty of ups and downs, most enjoyable. The walkers also had a good time, taking their time and enjoying the scenery.
The course eventually led back to the Bucket after 1hr 4mins and 32 secs, 7.65 kms – a good run.
The weather gods gave just enough time for the speeches, jokes and a score of 9.5 for the run – well done.
Returnees, JJJ and Sir Tom, were welcomed back after their adventures, a good night.
The hashers then enjoyed a delicious meal of BBQ’d Chicken in a wrap, followed by plenty of beer.
It was a great night of hashing, and everyone had a lot of fun. Thanks to Que and Seagull for setting such a great course!
Here are some of the highlights of the run:
The challenging course was perfect for dark, dark night.
The fresh air of the bush was invigorating.
The walkers had a great time, taking their time and enjoying the scenery.
Que and Seagull set an excellent course.
The food was delicious.
The hashers had a lot of fun.

Run 2779 – Budgie and Dick Tracy
We arrived at Percy Doyle Reserve about 5:00 PM and found our way to the car park in spite of Budgie putting the hash feet pointing the wrong direction. $ Bill had already parked his Ram monster cleverly in a corner parking bay which was large enough for him not to be a contender of the ‘Wilson Parking Award’. About 25+ hashers were called to order a few minutes before 6:00 PM so Antman could read his limerick about Elbows (Elbows wasn’t expected to be around at the circle). The runners (including your scribe) set out in a westerly direction after Budgie was requested to keep the run description short – just which direction was all he was asked for and he added it was set with chalk, but not those fancy P arrows, just the standard straight arrows. We were reliably informed that there would be 2 tunnels, one on the way out and one on the return leg. That information proved to be accurate. The run was well set but Pitt commented that a lot of the Checks were forward checks meaning the faster runners found the on on quickly, thus increasing the speed of the run instead off slowing them down. Being finely tuned athletes both Bushie & Pitt were able to keep up. We ran out to the coast and were on West Coast Highway at 6:33 PM. Boy this was going to be a fast & long run. We turned east at Budgies abode but Mega was no where to be seen and there was no beer stop. Someone commented that Mega probably didn’t know the combination to the beer fridge (harsh). Back east and eventually reached the car park to Percy Doyle Reserve in 1 hr 4m having run 6.94 km at an average speed of 9.21 k/ph (according to Bushie’s Strava app). The circle was run by Sir Knob and I’ll let Crayfish report what happened. I will add a big thank you for the birthday cartons from Colonel (who was one week early to fulfill his bucket duties and navigated to the wrong car park as he was riding shotgun in the bucket), and Cans who put on his annual English beers. There may have been one other that I missed as there was an esky of Carlton Mid as well as Crownies in every esky in the bucket. Budgie (err.. Dick Tracy) put on a great meal of Curry Chicken and Garlic Chicken with bread to soak up the gravy. Apparently Budgie peeled one or two potatoes whilst DT peeled the other 3kg. WBDFQ On On Bushie |
Run 2778 – Rimmer & Nanny
Run Write up Rimmer & Nanny
I perfect winters night for 30 hash men, made up of 15 runners & 15 walkers.
The run was in a nice northern suburb Warwick, we started with a interesting ceremony from Antman in the form of spreading some fine organic waste on the park. It was a nice change from all this welcome to land bullshit!!
The pack starting from Hawker Park, with Rimmer passing on his starting information, as I had no FI what he said (Scottish man I thought) I followed our leader Phantom (after a little time getting it back from Bushie) however Phantom being a caring Hashman offered the reins a few times to others on the walk (how good is that) I think the runners were a little confused at the start so the experienced sent them on the right path.
From there around many small parks Ellersdale etc & lot of hills (gee I think we were all surprised how hilly the area is) but it really was broken up nicely with lane ways.
Great work by the Hares when you think the packs got back around the same time with the walkers doing it in 58 minutes, yes all the walkers got thru it well & runners 7-8 k.
It was a well marked run with plenty of new territory. I am sure most of you smart Hashman noted that there were 6 streets with Scottish names. Moffat, Hawick, Arran, Raasay, Millport, Kirkcolm. There were more but I had to tell Rimmer I get the picture.
After all the down downs, birthdays, Freo Docs, Eagles all coming home for a win followed by Emu in fine form the boys were on a hi.
We finished a great night with a Scottish pie & warm vegies. There was plenty for seconds so it was nice to see some fine Hashman going back for seconds e.g. Dickey had 3 , Phantom & many others followed.
Well done to everyone.

Run 2777 Phantom and Sir Knob.
BY RIMMER
35 odd Hashers gathered in Claremont Showground for what was anticipated to be a great run considering the experience of the two hares Phantom and Sir Knob, they were not disappointed.
The run took us through a very salubrious part of Perth where they charge eye-watering prices for a beer although two hashers were spotted supping a pint in the Claremont Hotel. The run also took us through some very well-kept parks and bushland.
Walkers came in five minutes before the hour and the first of the runners came in five minutes after the hour which indicates a very well-planned and marked route.
Birthday Boy Haggis, supplied a litre bottle of Johnny Walker Black Lable and I can assure you it went down very well with us whisky lovers and there was just enough left for Haggis to take home for a nightcap.
The RA took to the stage and did his usual bit to offend the Muzzies but, he also managed to offend the Scots by referring to them as “Poms” (He’ll keep)
A plentiful supply of tasty Thai Curry for supper finished off a good night.
