Run 2778 – Rimmer & Nanny

Run Write up Rimmer & Nanny

I perfect winters night for 30 hash men, made up of 15 runners & 15 walkers.

The run was in a nice northern suburb Warwick, we started with a interesting ceremony from Antman in the form of spreading some fine organic waste on the park. It was a nice change from all this welcome to land bullshit!!

The pack starting from Hawker Park, with Rimmer passing on his starting information, as I had no FI what he said (Scottish man I thought) I followed our leader Phantom (after a little time getting it back from Bushie) however Phantom being a caring Hashman offered the reins a few times to others on the walk (how good is that) I think the runners were a little confused at the start so the experienced sent them on the right path.

From there around many small parks Ellersdale etc & lot of hills (gee I think we were all surprised how hilly the area is) but it really was broken up nicely with lane ways.

Great work by the Hares when you think the packs got back around the same time with the walkers doing it in 58 minutes, yes all the walkers got thru it well & runners 7-8 k.

It was a well marked run with plenty of new territory. I am sure most of you smart Hashman noted that there were 6 streets with Scottish names. Moffat, Hawick, Arran, Raasay, Millport, Kirkcolm. There were more but I had to tell Rimmer I get the picture.

After all the down downs, birthdays, Freo Docs, Eagles all coming home for a win followed by Emu in fine form the boys were on a hi.

We finished a great night with a Scottish pie & warm vegies. There was plenty for seconds so it was nice to see some fine Hashman going back for seconds e.g. Dickey had 3 , Phantom & many others followed.

Well done to everyone.

Mumbles & Neon – Run 2769

Bull Creek Leeming Amateur Football Club

Run 2769 was on a pleasantly mild overcast day after one of the coldest May day in Perth, a perfect temperature and quite day for a run. The home sets in the beautiful and tranquil Beasley Park surrounded by gum trees and next to the Melville Golf Club. The Beasly Park is home to the Bull Creek Leeming Amateur Football Club. The park’s tranquillity was soon taken over by noises from the female AFL players and of course the laughter of PH3.

When Mumbles said clearly and concisely: “start there” while pointing to the direction, one PH3 mate yelled: “Neon, please translate.” While I was wondering: translate to what? Greek or First Nation language? Neon said loudly: “The F*** starts over there” while pointing toward a corner of the football field where female AFL players were training. The runners immediately and energetically started to run toward the direction Neon pointed to.

To the disappointment of the runners, the path soon departed from the football field and directed to the straight Beasley Rd, with 500 m straight run before hitting the first FT, then another 500m on Beasley Rd before the second FT. The runners happily turned back toward the football field after the second FT, perhaps still remembered Neon’s directive: “The F*** starts over there”. But it turned out, the right path was through Banksia Primary school.

As the run turned out, the runners took 40% of the run in the east of Karel Ave, and 60% in the west. The run finished up along Karel Ave. It’s just a great run without Neon’s “the F***”.

Run 2740 – Moses – Lake Monger, Dodd St, North side

Perth Hash Run 2740 Monday 7th November 2022

Hares: Moses and Mastitis

Location Lake Monger

About forty five members and guests gathered at the northern end of Lake Monger on a pleasant spring evening to be greeted by Moses, almost back to full fitness following his recent injury, and Mastitis. Sir Tom’s guest, Marcus, came along again; that’s a good sign.

Shortly after 6pm the runners set off and, following a false trail along the western shore of the lake, headed north towards the Osborne Park industrial area. Phantom, map in hand, encouraged walkers to follow them. Not convinced of the wisdom of this move, Botak and I opted for the more scenic option of a stroll around the lake. Very pleasant it was too. We returned to the beer truck about 3.5 km and fifty minutes later.

The main packs of walkers and runners came in after about an hour. There were some mutterings of discontent about the trail markings but that happens most Mondays.

The circle, which was orderly and commendably short, included a good joke from Pembo.

Returnees included Botak and Kilkenny. Reluctant was thanked for his Spring Run hospitality. Guest Marcus picked Horse’s number from the hat but Horse was unable to pick the ace from the pack. Gumby and Polecat (get a haircut!) reminded us of the golf morning and lunch. RA Reluctant, on being informed that Moses had prepared roast mutton for dinner, upped his run score to 8.9.

Thanks to the hares for another good Monday evening.
