Location: Charles Riley Reserve, North Beach

The Mitchell car park was moving faster than usual so a good crowd made it by 6pm start. The mob started baying “Where’s the start?” not realising they were standing on the first arrow – no wonder they have trouble finding the trail.

I cannot comment too much on the run but it seemed to have been well set and the pack ended up in front of the walkers so they couldn’t use them for an excuse. Good running country with a mixture of bush and streets. The runners seemed to enjoy it.

The walkers had joint leaders (Stewie and Phantom) – bit like the Labor Party, who proceeded to start walking in different directions (definitely like the Labor Party). We eventually ended up in Star Swamp where Ranga Stewie staged a putsch and led a band off on their own. After a tour of Grandad’s old house and palm tree, Stewie, Grandad and Dick Tracy proceeded to steal people’s possessions from their front verge – namely 2 steamer chairs and a crate.

Back at the bucket Mumbles put on a carton of Steinlager and Action a carton of Guiness for their birthdays.

RHINO’s son Stuart was named HIPPO – pity he doesn’t fly as the name TOP GUN was going vacant.

NANNY then gave his last sermon (for the time being) and tried to smash up Hash Property yet again (the Hon Sec’s milk crate).

Food was a pleasant savory mince – eating it became a communal effort as we ran short of forks!

Must have been a good night as quite a few stayed back longer then normal. Good effort Action and Shakin.
